What would this Primrose Painting say if it could talk? “Call me ‘Nurture.’”

Posted on May 1, 2017 by Marie Scott Art

Sometimes it takes longer to process the meaning that a
painting holds than it took to paint.

Sometimes. You just gotta leave the house projects undone. Get in the car with your best boyfriend. And drive to where the river meets the sea. . Even when that means 9 hours on the road and only 3 hours on land. Because the rich conversation and salty air are worth the trip. . . . #saturdays #saturdayfun #12hourroadtrip #bestboyfriend #chasinglight #chasingsunshine #chasingfreedom #togetherforever #ido #wedid #southernliving #saltyair #southcarolina #beaufortsc #lowcountry #nothingcouldbefiner #newshoes #summershoes #sunshine
This stuff is EVERYWHERE. I love how it falls in such a uniform pattern. Blanketing my patio in fluffy caterpillar lace. . . #beautyinthemess #artiseverywhere #enjoythelittlethings #look #spring #pollen #yeahthatgreenville
1,000 little petal pieces. 1,000 little signs that today is going to be a good day. . ***Note the cat ear. That must mean something too. . . #hyacinth #spring #todayistheday #beautifulday #styleinspiration #catears #catsofinstagram
Two years ago, my Azalea patch was a sad-looking patch of mostly dead twigs. . This morning. They are heavenly! . Never underestimate the power of some seriously drastic pruning — balanced off with a generous amount of wishful-thinking and a little bit of love.
I came back from spring break to find a house full of happy, still-healthy plants. Except for this guy. For some reason he never seemed to thrive in his environment. . So instead of feeling bad about it —spending the next weeks coaxing him back to a spindly life — I decided on impulse, to let him go . In his place, I potted a little plant that had been leftover from Valentine’s Day. She was patiently hanging out in the tiniest plastic pot from which she came. Not yet planted. Just resting on some old dry soil, but still remarkably healthy. In the midst of waiting for a place to set down roots so she could finally begin to truly grow. . Sometimes plants need to move on from a space that isn’t a good fit. Sometimes people do to. And there is no shame in that. . The real shame is when a lack of change causes one to shrivel up and die. Or prevents somebody else from the chance to reach her full potential. . Thank you dead plant — for reminding me of this today. I look forward to watching your replacement grow into a healthier version of herself. All thanks to you! 🌼
