As you can imagine, the art economy has been rather slow for the past year or so.
So I’m taking the advice of my husband Tim, who has encouraged me to “stop trying so hard” with my business. Instead, I’m on orders to start using some more of my time for the things that I enjoy.
In following Tim’s wisdom, I took a pair of scissors out with me in the rain this morning and cut myself a nice bouquet of roses.
My neighbor Mrs. Horton STILL has beautiful roses in bloom all over her yard, so I’m following HER orders to pick as many as I want.
They smell delicious. They have cheered up my studio on this wet, rainy day. I’m glad I took the time to rescue them from the rain.
In the coming weeks I’m going to figure out what useful things I can do with my time that are not centered around my business. One of them definitely is NOT blogging so much.
I don’t want to look back on this year and wonder what I did with all of my time. So I am going to try to be less OCD with this blog. If I start posting every day again, please write and remind me to knock it off. Once or twice a week is plenty.
I hope you too will follow Tim’s advice, and do something simple today that makes you happy.
