Location #82 + the Meaning behind my Paintings

Come on in and look around! There's art in every room and every wall. My studio is upstairs so feel free to head on up...

142 artists opened up their studios on November 6 & 7, as part of the 2010 Greenville OPEN STUDIOS Tour.

All weekend long I heard people say “I wish we had time to see  ALL the studios!”

So for those of you who didn’t get a chance to stop by location #82… MARIE SCOTT STUDIOS …here’s a virtual tour for you to watch!

(The studio is where I create my oil paintings, and then the walls of my home are the “testing facilities” to make sure the paintings are ready to hang in someone else’s home.) 🙂

Special thanks to Ginger Millermon for the use of her song “Your Majesty is Everywhere.”

I’ve spent countless hours over the past years listening to her inspiring lyrics while working on different paintings. The lyrics of her song really sum up what I’m trying to capture and communicate in all of my paintings.

Your Majesty Is Everywhere
from “Amazed”

Your Majesty Is Everywhere

All creation lifts its praise
To the greatness of Your name
In the whisper of the wind
And the fury of the seas
The beauty of the heavens
All declare

Your majesty is everywhere
And everywhere I look I see
Your majesty is everywhere
And everywhere I look I see
Your majesty

In the stars that blaze with light
In the sun that hides the night
In the mountain peaks that rise
Through the clouds up to the skies
The beauty of the heavens
All declare

Through the sweetness of forgiveness
And the healing of salvation
The wonder of redemption
Is a witness of Your presence
You are here
You are here

  1. So lovely.

You know that it’s all I can do to keep myself from dashing out to the car and making my way to your beautiful home to hang out now. 🙂
